Malawi is one of the smallest countries in the Southern tip of Africa. Like many underdeveloped countries, it lacks basic resources for everyday life. Clean water is the most important resource needed in Malawi.
This nationwide issue has left more than half the population without basic hygiene essentials such as toilets and drinking water. Currently, one in three people do not have access to clean water and more than half the population is living without a working toilet. These frightening realities and challenges are, unfortunately, the everyday lives for over 13 million people in Malawi, according to wateraid.org.
World hunger is on the rise. 1 in 9 people struggle with daily food insecurity. Access to nutritious, sufficient food is a critical human right, and we must protect the most vulnerable among us—our children.
In 2002, Nu Skin took action to address the tragedy of childhood hunger and malnutrition with the development of the Nourish the Children initiative. The program begins with VitaMeal, a nutrient-dense food that is shipped to starving children around the world. Nu Skins' sales leaders, customers, and employees can purchase and donate VitaMeal*.
Once donated it is sent to a third-party, non-profit organization that specializes...

Grace Angel Ramos, a young girl living in the Philippines, was diagnosed with congenital heart block (CHB) and is a life-threatening condition that causes skin rashes, liver abnormalities and damaged blood cell development. CHB is rare and affects only 1 to 5 percent of babies born to women with systematic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Because of this condition, Grace had to undergo surgery when she was just a newborn to have a pacemaker implanted in her heart. Six years later, the pacemaker needed replacement, and her family was faced with having to fund another critical and expensive operation.
In May 2018, our Nu Skin family returned to Malawi to witness the efforts of our Force for Good (FFG) Foundation projects and Nourish the Children (NTC) initiative. As we work to combat the devastating effects of malnutrition and overturn generational poverty, we also want to highlight the social ties that make the world a smaller place. Following, is a brief recap of the group’s daily activities along with photos from the trip that share the Nu Skin commitment to making a difference.
Nourish the Children is one of Nu Skin’s initiative that enables Nu Skin brand affiliates and customers...

In the Chinese culture Nu Skin has the name of Ru Xin. Ru Xin is also the name of a little girl in China. It seems destined that her fate would be tied with Nu Skin. Ru Xin was diagnosed with neonate pneumonia right after birth. After a long-lasting futile treatment, she was transferred to the Municipal Hospital where she was diagnosed with congenital heart disease. Unfortunately, the Municipal Hospital was not capable of handling her condition. With a second hospital transfer she was sent to West China Second University Hospital for further treatment.

Ella May lives in a house made of bamboo and other materials easily found in the area. Ella’s parents make less than 250 pesos ($15) a day, and though most of their hard earned money is spent on food and their children’s education, the amount they earn is not enough for the family of eight.
Not all the children were able to eat each day and Ella, being the oldest, would often skip more meals so that her siblings could eat. Ella began to lose weight and fall behind in her class because she wasn’t getting enough food. Thankfully, Ella...
Nu Skin Nu Hope Libraries are built to help elementary school children continue their education outside of the classroom. Some children like ten-year-old SooYeon, a third-grade student, haven’t been able to read books in their schools because there aren’t enough books or a quiet space to read them.
Nu Skin sales leaders in Korea saw the need and have helped build 20 libraries throughout the country. With each new library the interior is changed, thousands of new books are donated, educational kits and various technology items to help children learn in new ways. Now, SooYeon goes to her Nu Hope...
