Malo e lelei! I'm Tui and I'm excited to share my tips on goal setting. I believe that goal setting is so powerful. As a young entrepreneur, I want to live the lifestyle I know I deserve while I'm young. I want to own my first home before 30, travel the world and be debt free! In order to make that happen I need to allow myself to let go, dream big and set massive goals! Here are three points about setting goals that are helping me as a young entrepreneur.
1. "Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success"
Set goals that excite you! If your goals aren't pushing you out of bed early in the morning- change your goals or take them to a higher level! Your goals need to be so big and so scary that you can't sleep, you can't eat, you can't stop daydreaming and you can't stop envisioning what your life will look like when you finally achieve them. For example: when I was nominated by my mentor for the Young Entrepreneur award, I was so hungry for it! It was a BIG goaI. I would always envision myself at my celebration party and envision myself holding the award. I set goals and targets and deadlines, alongside my uplines help. This big goal woke me up in the morning- it scared me, excited me and I was passionate to work for it. It helped me to stop getting so distracted and kept my focus.
2. "The future depends on what you do today" - Mahatma Ghandi
To me, the synonym for goal is action. So once you've set massive goals what do you need to do? Just work? No! As young entrepreneurs we need to understand that the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary. Success will not come overnight but our success is a journey. It's the little actions every day that fill our jar of success. So my action list is very specific. What are the little things I have to do every day to accomplish my goal? Here is an example. I had a goal to achieve a ruby pin title. My action list contained specific day to day actions such as taking 20 mins to feed my mindset every day, talking to 10 new people every day, following up with those 10 people every day and doing 3 business presentations every week. These actions helped me create habits of success and we're filling my jar bit by bit.
3. FEED MY MIND
As a young entrepreneur living in a society where my career path is 'not normal'- to keep my goals and dreams alive, I need to keep feeding my mindset. Our mindset which is our belief to achieve is like a living plant. How much do I nourish my mindset plant every day? Similar to a plant, we need to be watering and giving our mind constant sunlight.
I believe that anyone can be successful. It does not matter where you come from, what you have been through or what your circumstances are- you can be successful if you keep your mindset plant alive and set massive goals that drive you to push yourself and work hard!
I wish you all the best in your journey and looking forward to seeing you all in Greece!
