MALAWI, AFRICA

Janet Banda was severely malnourished and unable to walk or talk when an orphanage took her in. Within a week of receiving VitaMeal her tiny body began to normalize. Now she is able to run, play and learn with the other children. Now she has hope.

Xie Rongxue is 11 and in the fourth grade. Her family’s annual income is the equivalent of US$75. Her father is in the hospital for liver disease treatment, so her 16-year-old brother dropped out of school to help with the farm. VitaMeal donations assure that Xie and her family receives proper nutrition.

Tupiza, a 7-year-old boy, works in the mines to help support his family since his father died a few years ago. He used to eat one meal a day and chew coca to calm the hunger and stay awake. Now he receives a second meal of VitaMeal, and he is doing much better in school.

YOGYAKARTA, INDONESIA

Following the earthquake that Yogyakarta and surrounding area in 2006, total 24,000 bags of VitaMeal were sent to Yogyakarta.

VitaMeal bags were distributed in the following areas and location: Dusun Mojosari, Dusun Jonggrangan, and Srunggo Goa Cerme elementary school.

EAST NUSA TENGGARA, INDONESIA

Millions of people in East Nusa Tenggara live in poverty, causing the province’s malnutrition rate the highest in the country. Children in Soe, Kupang, are grown up in dry and dusty neighbourhood. Most of them suffer from lack of nutrition, or malnutrition.

Melki Takesef, a 9 years-old’s son of a farmer, lives at Desa Oepliki, Timor Tengah Selatan. Melki is not able to go to school because his family lives in poverty. They live in a very dry, unpleasant environment with poor watering system. He is extremely grateful to receive VitaMeal, particularly the VitaMeal porridge prepared by his mother.

JAKARTA, INDONESIA

The capital city Jakarta is a place for thousands of unfortunate children. They live as streetchildren and have limited or even no access to education and nutritious foods. Because of the economic problems, these kids have to survive with whatever food they can afford from the street, leading them to suffer from malnutrition. VitaMeal gives nutrition to them, giving these children a hope for a better life.
