Planet
We are committed to being good global citizens. At our global headquarters, we are looking at ways to reduce our paper usage, eliminating paper cups and plastic bottles on campus and bettering our recycling efforts. These efforts are helping towards becoming a zero-waste facility.
At Nu Skin, we commit to building a global network of zero-waste facilities. What does this stand for? This means that we are working hard to remove 90% or more of harmless waste from landfills. How do we achieve this goal? It is through reducing, reusing, recycling and tracking our progress.
Creating zero-waste facilities in Nu Skin's global markets will ultimately enable carbon emissions reductions around the world.
Product
We will evaluate all of our products from beginning to end to find out where we can make sustainable changes that will have a positive environmental impact, including an evaluation of primary and secondary packaging, sourcing and ingredient education.
- In 2019, we commit to the creation of an environmental impact scoring system as we believe that the best way to improve the impact on the environment is to start at the source.
- As the best-selling products have the greatest potential impact on the environment, we commit to improve the environmental impact score of our top 20 products by the end of 2020.
- By the end of 2023, we commit to assess, score and improve the environmental impact score of 100% of our products. Each product's impact on the environment will be improved, bringing a huge positive environmental impact.
In the same year, palm oil certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Development (RSPO) will be fully used, with a commitment to ensure the responsibility of supply chain for a friendly environment to protect vulnerable ecosystems.
- By 2030, we commit that all of our packaging will be reusable, recyclable, recycled, reduced or renewable. Our products will be more sustainable and reusable, and more friendly to the entire planet and the environment
For example, just by decreasing the carton size on our ageLOC® LumiSpa® device, we’re saving 178 tons of paper annually, which is the equivalent of approximately 3,017 trees. Also, our Nutricentials® Bioadaptive Skin Care System, which entirely uses sustainable packaging materials, to provide good skin care and the care for the environment.
We are also striving to increase the amount of post-consumer recycled plastic (i.e. PCR), in our products. So far, we have implemented 25 percent PCR in twelve of our product containers which resulted in 18 tons of reclaimed plastic and that is just the beginning!

Eco-Friendly Measures
Environmental Protection Measures as a ‘Force For Good’
NU SKIN pay attention to environmental protection. All lighting systems at Nu Skin Plaza Causeway Bay are LED energy-saving lamps, which are expected to save nearly 20% electricity consumption each year.
NU SKIN is the first direct selling company in Hong Kong using electronic billing system. It can reduce 700,000 receipts yearly, thus creating an energy-saving and paperless environment. In addition, various electronic facilities, including interactive projection devices, self-service kiosks, electronic posters, and electronic product catalogues are also used in Nu Skin Plaza to replace the traditional promotional materials. The annual carbon reduction can reach 47,000 kg, which is equivalent to planting 2,600 trees.
In addition, NU SKIN encourages brand affiliates to join the protect environment, and set up plastic bottle recycling bins next to the pick-up point in Nu Skin plaza to support recycling.
