Skincare trends to look out for in 2020
Another year has come to an end and now it’s time to start thinking about the year ahead and what it has in store for us. There are many skincare trends that we predict will be in for 2020. We are here to let you know what we think are going to be the hottest trends of the year.
Before we discuss this year’s trends, let’s reflect on 2019. Last year was a fantastic year for skincare and beauty brands with the demand for skincare products being at an all-time high. The industry is expected to continue to grow in 2020 as consumers are becoming more conscious of their health and appearance. According to research the global skin care market is expected to grow annually by 4.4% from 2019-2025.[1]
In 2019 the industry demanded beauty products that were cleaner, healthier, and more natural. Here are the best skincare trends coming at you in 2020:
Innovation and the use of technology: Technology is evolving and is becoming a prominent part of our everyday lives. In 2020 consumers will be looking for technology and personal experiences to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. In order to capitalise on this trend we predict that companies will introduce new creative ways to use technology to provide beauty solutions.
Customisation: Over the past few decades customisation has been by far one of the most significant changes to the industry. We expect 2020 to be another year where customisation continues to grow. In 2020 customisation will be key, with customers looking for products which are tailored to their skin’s needs and concerns.
Men’s skincare: Skincare is becoming increasingly popular among men and we expect it to continue to grow in 2020. Skincare products should be used by everyone and we expect to see more men than ever before looking to purchase products for their skins needs and concerns. In 2020 companies will also be implementing more gender-neutral marketing and packaging in order to expand their brand into new markets.
Sustainable packaging: In an effort to protect the environment we predict that 2020 will be a year where many brands invest in sustainable packaging. This is an important environmental initiative, helping to reduce plastic waste. Nu Skin Pacific is already ahead of the game, with re-useable bags made of environmentally friendly materials already available to purchase.
2020 is going to be a great year and we have lots of exciting things coming to the Pacific that we can’t wait to share with you. Let us know in the comments below which 2020 trends you want to see?
