At Nu Skin, our “Discover the Best You” tagline is engrained in everything we do – from the way we empower and value our global Nu Skin family, to our culture of giving. Our Force for Good culture encompasses a myriad of global humanitarian projects and initiatives to help people improve their lives.
“Discover the Best You” also equates to our unique opportunity, line of premium products to improve health and wellness, and an enhanced quality of life. Our employees are enabled to discover their best selves through opportunities to serve their communities and participate in activities that enrich their lives.
In this article, we will highlight several of the employee events that demonstrate our continued commitment to creating a culture of giving, empowerment, and employee camaraderie.
EVENTS
March
March Madness
We love celebrating March Madness with our Nu Skin family! Each March during the NCAA men’s basketball tournament, Nu Skin hosts several events for employees including a March Madness kickoff featuring the Utah Jazz Dunk team, and a catered lunch.
At our 2017 celebration, employees were served buffalo wings, popcorn, and nachos during the afternoon games. In addition to multiple basketball challenges and arcade games, employees had the opportunity to enter a guess as to how much money was in the March Madness Money Case for a chance to win front row tickets to a Jazz game.
Employees were also invited to wear their favorite team’s jersey and participate in a company-wide bracket with prizes.
Easter Egg Hunt
At Nu Skin we strive to create a family-friendly environment where family life is celebrated. The annual Easter Egg hunt is a favorite event for employees. Each year, employees are encouraged to invite their young children to participate in a large Easter Egg hunt on the South Innovation Center lawn of the Nu Skin Provo campus. This is a great opportunity for families to come together for an afternoon of fun.
June
Force For Good Day
In addition to empowering and serving our employees, we also strive to empower those in the community. Employees are encouraged to be a Force for Good in the world and in the community. Each June, Nu Skin employees are invited to join with coworkers and family members to celebrate Force for Good Day.
This year we celebrated our 14th annual Force for Good Day by assembling 10,000 back-to-school kits for underprivileged children in local school districts. In addition, volunteers also had the option to assist in beautifying Provo Center Street by planting shrubbery, painting kiosks and installing bike racks.
The Force for Good Day festivities included a short program celebrating Nu Skin’s 21 years of giving, and a BBQ lunch for employees and family members who participated in service. Those who volunteered received a Nu Skin Force for Good t-shirt. Throughout Force for Good Day, participants in the various service projects used #NuSkinGives as a hashtag when sharing experiences on social media.
July
500 million meals celebration
We are proud to be able to give back to those in need. Last July, Nu Skin reached an incredible milestone of 500 million meals donated through our Nourish the Children initiative. To celebrate this milestone, Nu Skin employees were given the opportunity to participate in a time-lapse video recognizing the efforts of employees, sales leaders, and others around the world.
August
Lagoon
At Nu Skin, we value our employees and enjoy rewarding them for their commitment and dedication. Each summer, our employees are treated to a company party at Lagoon Amusement Park. “Lagoon Day” has become a well-loved tradition among our Nu Skin family. Dinner is provided, and employees are free to enjoy an evening of fun with coworkers and family members.
October
You Rev Kickoff
What do you get with 20,000 bouncy balls, 1,100 Sodalicious drinks, 900 floating lanterns, 50 umbrellas? One incredible “YouRevolution!” Last October, we hosted a first-of-its-kind event launching the “YouRevolution,” where founders and executives shook things up with some groundbreaking changes! The kickoff was held in the evening allowing global employees to participate via a live webcast.
Several exciting announcements were made including an updated dress code policy, employee service trip to Malawi, holiday party entertainment, and highly anticipated soda machines. At the close of the event, each employee had the chance to write on a floating lantern a personal goal to discover their best self.
Halloween
Our culture of giving starts from the very top. Last Halloween, Blake Roney, one of Nu Skin’s Founders, generously offered a pumpkin to all Provo employees from his personal pumpkin patch.
On Halloween, some company festivities have included a pumpkin carving contest, a candy jar guessing game, caramel apples, and a costume contest complete with prizes. The contest is an annual favorite amongst employees and executives.
November
Turkey Hand Out
Another favorite holiday tradition at Nu Skin revolves around Thanksgiving. Each November, the Nu Skin management team generously provides a turkey for each employee and their families to enjoy. Surplus turkeys are donated to a local food bank.
December
Holiday Party
Each December, the company holiday party is an evening of fun and festivity for our executives, employees, and family members.
At last year’s celebration, well-known comedian Jim Gaffigan helped kick off the party. Dinner was served as employees and their guests arrived. After Gaffigan’s performance, Nu Skin founders and executives took the stage. There they gave away an array of prizes to employees selected from a random drawing, followed by an announcement of several gifts that all employees would receive.
Sub for Santa and Giving in Your Own Backyard
Each holiday season, Nu Skin employees around the globe are invited to give back to their local communities. Our Provo employees are encouraged to participate in the annual Sub for Santa program to help families in need. All throughout our corporate offices, Sub for Santa tags are placed on trees where employees then select a tag containing a child’s name, age, clothing size and requested toy and book. Donation jars are also placed near the trees in an effort to collect cash donations and gift cards.
In addition, Nu Skin’s “Giving in Your Own Backyard” initiative enables employees to support and help one another in times of need. Through this yearly program, employees have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of their coworkers. Our employees are also encouraged to participate in volunteer activities that would allow them to make a difference in whatever way allows them to be a force for good in the world.
